Bayern reject Chelsea’s Gomez bid

9 Feb

Europe’s most in-form striker Mario Gomez (16 BL goals in only 14 starts) has claimed that Bayern Munich turned down an offer of around £35.7m from the west London side.

The superstitious German international, who has credited a Chilean miner of the same name for his blistering form, was the subject of a rejected bid before Chelsea turned their attention, and cash, to Fernando Torres.

“I only found out about the offer after the club had turned it down,” Gomez told Sport Bild weekly, admitting that he was kept in the dark over the deal. He has also stated that he is more than happy to remain at the Allianz as he is playing where he has always wanted to.
